Medical Tourism in India

Medical tourism in India is on its way to becoming a multibillion dollar industry. It’s not just an oil massage that is bringing travellers to the country from across the world, but tourists with serious ailments are turning to India for a cost-efficient cure. Patients from UK and other western nations are flocking to India and seeking medical treatments at a much lesser expense; at a quarter or sometimes even a 10th of the cost which they are supposed to pay at home. Apart from patients, there are travellers who are finding it an excellent option to put together a tropical vacation with elective or plastic surgery.

By earning necessary accreditions, conforming to standard medical practises and getting its hopspitals government recognised, India is about to witness an increase of $2.2 billion per year in the medical sector. Though there is much that needs to be done to improve the aspects of medical tourism in India, the country has world-class medical care, high-quality equipment and facilities.
